George Mason University's Visual Identity

Design guidelines have been established to create a consistent visual identity for George Mason University web sites. A "Web Identity Guide" has been developed online to assist designers in creating university web sites. The university logo and web site templates are available to download from this guide. Additionally, this web page offers web designers guidelines for how to use the logo on web pages.

George Mason University is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All Web pages, to the extent feasible, must be accessible to people with disabilities. If this is not possible, reasonable accommodations will be made to provide the same materials in other formats.

Hi-Res Logos for Print Publications

The logo should appear on all web pages that comprise the university's web presence. High resolution versions of the logo are available from a "Visual Identity Guide" for download use in print publications. The link list on the right provides additional assistance in designing your site.

  • Two-colors (Mason green and Mason gold)
    • Mason green = #006633
    • Mason gold = #FFCC33
  • One-color (black, white or Mason green)

Backgrounds

Whenever possible, the logo should be placed on a white background, or at least against a background that will provide sufficient contrast and readability. The logo can appear in black or white with a solid background, but it should not be used with a patterned background.

Non-Interference Zone

When the logo is accompanied by additional text orothergraphics, an image free zone must be maintained around the logo. If the logo with a transparent background is used, there must be a solid color behind the logo.
